Fellow Lions,

Lions from Texas and around the country have donated over $480,000 to the Kerrville Host Lions Club Foundation (KHLCF) to date.  The foundation’s board decided to partner with other 501(c)(3) organizations tosupport community recovery efforts in Kerr County.  KHLCF awarded the Comfort Voluntary Fire Department (VFD) over $23K and the Ingram VFD over $14K. They have awarded 501(c)(3)organizations based upon community needs.

Districts2-A1, 2-A2, and 2-S3 have received smaller $15K emergency grants from LCIF as well as $3K emergency grants from Texas Lions Foundation which designated clubs used immediately. We will use the $100,000 major catastrophe (MCAT) grant in accordance with conditions on it for eligible expenses.

Unrestricted funds do not come from LCI, but rather they are donated by Lions or members of the general public. We need these funds to help individuals and families who have lost everything. This comes in the way of clothing, appliances, food, etc., whatever is needed. This also can help get matching grants from LCIF. Weare nearly 2 months out from this tragedy. When I toured Kerrville area and San Angelo with Immediate Past International President (IPIP) and LCIF Chairperson Fabricio Olivera, the devastation was overwhelming.

We are asking once more for your generosity to help Kerrville Sunrise Club (CenterPoint, Kerrville, Ingram, Hunt), District 2-A1 (San Angelo, San Saba, Menard, Paint Rock and London), and District 2-S3 (Liberty Hill, Lago Vista, and Leander).
