LEO Omega Charter Ceremony
With Boy Scouts roots, Medical Explorer Post 4077 started almost thirty years ago at Texas State University. The organization served in various roles across Texas and parts of Mexico, shaping future medical professionals and their communities. With the question “What more can we do, how can we improve serving others?” Dr. Charles Johnson and EMT Larkin Smith, both Lions Club members and advisors to Medical Explorers, they enlisted the help of Lion Mike Smith. The plan of forming a new, specialized LEO Omega club made up of Medical Explorers came to life in late 2019, holding elections and charting this ground-breaking LEO club in 2020. The Texas State Medical Explorer LEOs mission totally captures the mission and pillars of the Lions club, along with encompassing what LEOs stand for, building Leadership, gaining Experience, and having and giving Opportunities. With open hearts, and ready hands the new LEOs are prepared to assist their community through various health related projects, which are already underway.
