Kerrville Host Lions Seek Golfers and Sponsors For Tournament

golf-shotThe Kerrville Host Lions Club (KHLC) is now soliciting sponsors and players for their 20th Annual Dan Gatewood Memorial Golf Tournament to be held on Saturday, April 23rd at Scott Schreiner Golf Course. The tournament pays respect to Dan Gatewood, a long-time member of the KHLC who was instrumental in the success of this tournament from its beginning. Gatewood passed away June 3, 2007.

Highlighting this year’s tournament will be Seven Hundred Dollars ($700.00) cash courtesy of Cecil Atkission Motors for the player getting closest to the pin. The hole will be selected by golf course personnel the day of the tournament.

There will be a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. The tournament format is a four-man scramble with an entry fee of $100 per player, which includes green fees, cart, goody bag, lunch and refreshments. Prizes include cash for the Low Gross and Low Net teams, including second and third low net. The putting contest will “wind up” the tournament which also pays cash to the winner.

Proceeds from this event support the Texas Lions Camp special needs children, early childhood vision screening, delivering food baskets to families in need, and college scholarships for Kerrville area youth. So get your team together and sign up to play in one of the best golf tournaments hosted in the Kerrville area, Saturday, April 23rd.   Contact Ron Curry (512-779-4166) or Barbara Flynn (830-285-4529) for more information.
